Champagne and Coffee Stains - Meal Planning Made Easy

This one tip changed my life

Hey!

I was talking to my friend the other day and we got to meal planning. She's a mom too and was asking how I stay on track with keeping everything organized when it comes to meal prepping.

Want to know the secret?

A notebook.

Yes - that's the big secret.

I write down every single meal plan I ever make into a simple notebook I picked up at Target. It's nothing fancy, but you know what it does?

It saves me soooo much time!

I used to have a cute menu board that I'd fill out, but at the end of the week I'd erase it and put up the next week's meal plan. Why was I wasting all that work I had been doing?! I still use the board, but now I just make sure I write it down.

I also have sections in my notebook for a few different things. One section is a list of family favorites - you know, those classic recipes the kids could eat every single night. This also doubles as my school lunch list so I have lots of ideas when I'm packing lunch on busy mornings.

Then I have a section of easy grab and go recipe ideas - these are perfect for those "I can't make one more decision" dinners.

Then I have another section where I write down a copy of the week's meal plans, feedback on the recipes, and anything else that might be helpful in the future (ie add more cheese next time!). This has been especially a lifesaver for busy weeks, holiday weeks, and birthday dinner plans. I can easily look up what worked in the past and build a menu based off that.

I keep everything super basic and simple - and it WORKS!

What's your biggest meal plan tip? Reply back and let me know!

Hi Are you a snow person? I am defintiely not. I love the sun - or really any weather that I can get outside and run comfortably without having to wear a ton or layers! Today we're waking up in Minnesota to a ton of snow. Not only that, but this is just storm 1 of 3 that's about to hit us this weekend. So it's looking like my 14 mile long run on Sunday is going to be a treadmill run. Before we got all this snow I looked ahead for the forecast and knew I'd be craving ALL the comfort foods so...

Hey Reader I've really been getting into podcasts lately. It's actually been one of the tools I use to slow down on my runs - music gets me running way too fast, so for easy runs I'll pop on a podcast to do my steady easy run. Anyway - yesterday I was listening to a podcast with the Iron Cowboy. If you're not familiar with him, this guy is insane - he did 50 Ironman races in 50 consecutive days, then most recently completed 101 Ironman races in 101 days. He's the inspiration behind Andy...
